Arian's Art

This is the top half project for my multi-piece project, I made this and the bottom half, which is simply a small cylinder, yesterday, and I cleared some clay from the bottom of this one and cut the cylinder to fit. At the moment they're in my locker bagged with some wet clay so I can slip them together tomorrow.

I'll begin looking for themes soon.. I've been thinking about some ideas lately and I'll put them up on my new blog on the Theme page. Check it out!

Its a winter wonderland!
This week we really didnt even have school, Monday we had about 40 mins of class and all I did was glaze some projects and put my little vase on the bisque shelf. Other than that its just fun the in the snow all week long! And Thanksgiving!
I'll get back to the ceramics and art making later.. :) Have a great break!

This week I havent been very successful.. I made a plate and the tiny vase on the right, which i footed today (rather difficult actually!). Ive been trying to glaze about 5 projects and my lidded project that was put on the reject shelf twice.. Its just been difficult. I had 2 projects come out of the glaze kiln yesterday, and I put another one of the shelf today. Lots of projects onto the bisque shelf, out of the bisque, onto the glaze shelf, and out of the glaze kiln. Unforunately it seems as though this was all I was able to complete fort the week, and since next week we only have class twice, because of Thanksgiving break, I probably wont be able to make much else..
Honestly a disappointing week.

This is the pot that I made yesterday, and I just remembered that I forgot to bag it! Hopefully it will still be wet enough to foot tomorrow in class. Finger's crossed!

And make sure to honor those who have fought in our nation's military today, spend time with family and cherish the good lives that you have because of the heroic men and women who fight for our rights and freedoms. Thats what I'll be doing :)

Veterans Day

SO! Monday I made the two projects that you can see on the far right side, and I footed them today. They were just for fun, just to make some random project. But i was pleased to see that the lid that I had made for my bigger lidded project last week turned out to fit the vase I made on Monday! Maybe then ill use that one as a lidded project instead. I also had another project come out of the bisque on Monday, so I'm saving it to glaze on Friday I think. Plus I am extremely excited that my small vase I made last week and the lid I made on Friday turned out to fit perfectly!! They are the two photos on the left. And they look fabulous! :)

Today I threw a small lid with a knobbed top for the vase shaped project that I made on monday. Its super cute, I hope it fits.. I also glazed my old wheel altered project and put that on the glaze shelf. I put the two bowl/vase projects that I made on monday onto the bisque shelf, so hopefully they will be out Monday. Did i mention that we got a ton of new gazes?! I am so excited to use them!!

Anyways, thats my update for the day. Check in next week, hopefully I'll actually be able to throw some projects..

These are the only two projects that I have made this week, it seems like an off week for me for ceramics unfortunately.. I have made a lid for the second one (it was going to be my lidded project) but I think the lid is too big.. :( I'm going to try and make a lid for the one on the right, which i really love, and hopefully that one will turn out better. I made them both on Monday, footed them on Wednesday, and finished the lid for the one on the right today. But I dont think its going to turn out very well.. Oh well. I can always make more.
